Arden Quinn is 18 months old!!!

She's our little treasure. She is full of joy and life. You can't be around her without smiling at least once. She amazes me with the things she picks up and remembers! She talks more than ever...such a little chatterbox, and I LOVE IT!!! It makes my days so fun to just sit and giggle at her witty little remarks. Putting words together is her newest favorite thing...it was neat to watch her learn nouns, and know what pretty much everything in her surroundings was called. Now we've moved on to abstract, and piecing together words to make sense! For example, she knows what hungry ["hungee"] and thirsty ["sirstee"] mean, says "love you" without being prompted, and when I say "tell ____ 'see ya'", she'll just say "LATER!". Now, when naming items belonging to a certain person, it's no longer just "Daddy's" or "Mama's"...it's "Daddy's boots" or "Mama's pillow". Anyone who sneezes [including herself] gets a happy little "bless you!", and if she burps or toots, she says "'scuse me!". After Mama cleaned the kitchen cabinets and drawers on Sunday, she had to go from cabinet to cabinet, drawer to drawer, saying "Clean! Cabinet! [or drawer] Good job!" She picked up the spaghetti server out of the caddy on the counter, and said "NOODLES!!!" (I've never told her this; she just saw me use it for noodles, apparently.) then wanted down off the counter...and proceeded to go find her miniature noodle scoop in the drawer of her kitchen...then said "Two! Noodles! Mamas, yours!" She heard someone's trash can tip over outside this morning from the wind, and said "Boom! Trash can, EEEW!!!" Last night, while Daddy was holding her (and Drew and I were talking), she watched me take the food to the table to eat, and she said "DINNER TIME!!!" She'll march into a room where I'll be busy working, and say "Hi, mama!". If I ask her if she's tired, she says "Tired, night night. Sleep." then pretends to yawn! Her ability to piece together thoughts and phrases is astounding to me, for her age! Her world has become so much bigger. It's overwhelming to me how fast she's taken off with verbal skills, I can only imagine how overwhelming it must be in her little world. She adapts so easily and fluidly...children are amazing. She almost recognizes the entire alphabet...she doesn't know the order, or the song, or phonetics and all that but she knows the letters by sight.

Arden's 18 month stats:

weight: 22 lbs-15th percentile
height: 35 inches-over 97th percentile
head circumference: 18.5-61st percentile

...and photos! {it was too cold/soggy/snowy and I was too lazy to take her outside...hence the indoor portrait studio look xD}

this one just cracks me up..."I think that's enough, Mama..."
And then I took a few self-timed photos of me and her...I wanted a few of just us two, before I'm a mama to two!!!

  3. The pics of you two are so good. And how special! I think you'll be glad you got them!! I have pics of the boys with me when each of them were about 6m old. The pose is almost identical in each one. Someday I think I will display them all together.
